Holy Island, Lough Derg, 2009
"My wife and I hired a Carrick-Craft cruiser in Sept. 2009 and cruised Banagher to Killaloe and back. We were moored in Mountshannon Sept 19-20. Sunday morning, the 20th, dawned clear and calm and we rowed out to Holy Island for an outing. This was our third trip to Ireland in 20 years and our second holiday on the Shannon."

James Magee's Pike.
John Magee writes: "Didn't waste time with scales - just put the fish back in in shortest time possible. It was caught by my nephew James Magee from Longford on 15/10/2009 on Lough Forbes from our Quicksilver 650 fishing boat.
Most of the blood is mine (witness the strained expression) as the fish bit right through my glove!"

The Photo is taken on the ice at Share, Shanaghy Bay, Lisnaskea. I reckon the ice was at least 6 ins thick. These guys in the photo had walked some several miles on  the ice on this expedition"
